SEM DT Reveal (January 2014) – Layout Sketch
As promised I am back today to share with you my creation using the January Layout Sketch from Scrapping Everyday Miracles (SEM). As a member of the design team I am only required to create with one of the challenges each month, however this months sketches (both card and layout) along with the main theme challenge really inspired me – so this is my reveal two of three for the January Challenges – the Layout Sketch.
My layout background started off as one of Jo’s experiments with my Gelli Plate, that I wrote about last month – here. I then went to town adding loads of paint, mist, stamping (ScrapFX Chicken Wire), Caran D’Ache Neocolor 2’s, tapes, ink and Golden Mica Flakes Gold (small).
I have used the Golden Heavy Body Acrylic Iridescent Gold Course on my fingertip to edge and detail areas of the layout. I also randomly swiped it around to add to the Mixed Media feel of the layout.
I have used the Golden Matte Medium to hold down the tapes, as they can lift for no particular reason. I find this helps tremendously when creating Mixed Media layouts with tapes (especially the Washi kind).
