Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry
Time flies when your having fun, especially when it is creative fun. I can hardly believe that it has been nearly a year since I applied to be on the 2014 Kaisercraft Design Team, when I was lucky enough to get through to the second round.
So here I am again with my 2015 Design Team application post and some of my favourite recent Kaisercraft projects. I have to admit that it was really difficult to narrow down the list of favourites so I have included a little gallery at the end of this post showcasing some additional favourites.
I don’t just love the fact that Kaisercraft Collections are perfectly co-ordinated, there are also the most wonderful dies, templates, embellishments and stamps in the range too. I am particularly fond of mixing products from different Collections together, as I have done on my Altered Journal project.
Therefore my first project to share is an Altered Journal which I am going to use for my Morning Pages. Those of you who have read “The Artist Way” by Julia Cameron will know what I mean, and for the rest of you these pages are filled with a spill of thoughts and feelings that help with the creative process – and self love. I felt that I needed a pretty place to keep them and this journal just needed a facelift, so a project just for me was born.

Now for a couple of close-ups showing the embellishment details and the texture in the background that I created with paper, paint, mist and stamping. There are tonnes of layers in the background and anyone wanting a rundown is welcome to contact me or leave a comment.
My second creation is a layout that I truly love using the fabulous XO Collection. I really enjoyed creating this layout, especially since it uses a lot of white space and just a touch of Mixed Media allowing my family in the photograph to shine. This layout also inspired a class I taught in January, which is pictured at the end of this post.

My final project is a set of cards created using the Off The Wall Collection, which is one of my favourites from this past year. The cards have a real Grungy Mixed Media feel, and I think they would be perfect for any teenage boys Birthday.
Kaisercraft products: Off The Wall – P1666 Loud, P1667 Game Time, P1669 Tag, P1673 Extreme, CS195 Clear Stamps; Decorative Dies – DD307 Party, DD704 Hello; Other – T616 Template Stars, IP719 Small Ink Pad Black, CD601 Premium Cardstock White, CS149 Texture Stamp Chevron
Matisse products: Gesso, Structure Metallic Silver
Sizzix products: Bigz XL Alpha Die Block Talk by Tim Holtz, Texture Fade Riveted Metal by Tim Holtz
Of course there are lots of layers of paint, mist, stenciling, embossing, inking, doodling and stamping on these fun cards.
Well that is it for a very long post that helped to remind me how varied my style really is, and just how much I love to create – whether it is a scrapbook layout, a card, a set of invitations/placecards, a mixed media canvas or an altered something-or-rather.
Happy Creating and have a wonderful day
Beautiful creations Alicia. Best of luck with your application 🙂
Such gorgeous creations Alicia!! Best of luck 🙂
Love them as your pages and designs are not over cluttered with embellishments and your photos still shine as the the star of the page and not the embellishments.
All the best for a spot on the Kaiser team this year.
