Mothers Day Gift Idea (Tutorial)
Tonight I taught 29 Cubs from 7 to 11 years of age how to make these cute Notepad holders for on the fridge. I had precut, scored and added tape to everything…they just had to peel and stick.
My notepads are 3″x5″ (from most Newsagents for between 50c and $1.10). I got two complete Notepad holders from each sheet of doublesided patterned paper. I used My Minds Eye papers as they are thicker and the texture makes them a bit more sturdy.
For each holder you need to cut a 3″x12″ piece and score it 5.75″ in from each end. Cut a 2″x3″ piece, fold short ends into each other without creasing and adhere at top of notepad with enough room to comfortably hold a pen or pencil protruding (this is the pen holder). The notepad is stuck to the inside with a bottom border the same as the sides. Cut a 2.75″x5.5″ piece for the cover, which I stamped on and added a flower to before adhering centrally on the cover (mine are a bit smaller as I had to accommodated a design change at the last minute). I also added a magnet to the back and printed a “NOTES” title for the front. The options for embellishment are endless…have fun creating.
