An Invitation not to miss

Bishop LindsleyBishop Lindsley and Mother Felicity from the Anglican Diocese of Popondota in Papua New Guinea, will be speaking at a special dinner to be held on Monday 27 May at St Saviours Hall (Auckland Street, Gladstone) from 6pm.  The cost of the dinner is $15 per person, all of which will be donated to the Diocese of Popondota.  This promises to be an interesting evening as the Diocese of Popondota is much larger than the Anglican Diocese of Rockhampton, which itself is twice the size of New Zealand.  The Diocese of Popondota is one of only five Diocese’ in PNG, which has a population of over 5 million people speaking over 800 languages – 80% of whom live in rural areas relying on subsistence farming.  Some of the many hardships faced by the population of PNG are poverty, HIV/Aids, low levels of literacy and high infant mortality rates.
