I decided to have a go at the Kaiser Sketch Challenge this month, even though the theme is Christmas – not exactly my favourite theme to create with. I just don’t do a lot of Christmas layouts, especially since I decided a few years ago to live as many of the moments as I can with my children – not just take photographs of the moments.
My layout is about a photograph of Milton being sneaky with his own camera taking photographs of family members who weren’t necessarily agreeable to being caught on film.
I have used the recently released Kaisercraft Silent Night Collection along with some of the awesome new Kaisercraft Glitter Cardstock. Star dies in multiple sizes helped bring my layout together – especially my favourite die….
This innocent looking star die cuts enough small stars in varying sizes for a layout, without looking like you have a star overload.
Distressing felt like the perfect finish to my layout, as inking would have made it too grungy – losing the fresh feel of the papers I have used. And the large open stars have been created using two star dies of different sizes that nested together (the inner stars were actually stitched stars on each size I created).
You only have just under two days to go if you are going to enter the Kaisercraft Sketch Challenge for November – plenty of time if you set your mind to it…..
