The Color Room – Palette #108
This weeks palette (#108) over at the Color Room is soft and vintage, just perfect for a picture taken of my Mum on the weekend of her 21st Birthday Celebrations back in 1961. I decided to keep it simple and as close to the sketch as possible considering I only had one photograph. The new Prima Fairy Belle range had the perfect pink and brown, and I coloured the rhinestone swirls with a Copic marker to match the green.
The journaling reads:
“By the Barmundu River at Marlua Station for a weekend of her 21st Birthday Celebrations. A Spit Roast and Party on Saturday night, and Tennis for those who could still stand on Sunday morning. Uncle Sarge needed a Specialist because he was too hungover for a normal Doctor. Marlua was owned by John Campbell and managed by her father, Edison.”
I had to include the bit about Uncle Sarge, or else that story may be lost when everyone who knows it forgets it or is gone. That’s what Scrapbooking is really about…keeping memories and moments alive.
