The Color Room – Palette #113
I was a bit stumped by this palette from the Color Room when I printed it yesterday, however when I sat down in my studio last night it seemed to have a life of its own and came together like magic. I really enjoyed creating with this colour combo, which is outside of what I would personally choose.
I have misted the orange shield piece of paper with Twinkle Yellow Glimmermist to lighten the colour a little. The background masking was created by rubbing Tattered Rose Distress Ink through a Crafters Workshop Template using a Tim Holtz Blending Tool, and then overstamping with Fired Brick Distress Ink on a Darkroom Door Script background stamp (whilst the template was still in place). I painted the chipboard swirl with pink Twinkling H2O’s and then coated it with Dimensional Magic once it was touch dry. The Dimensional Magic has cracked (which I quite like) as it was only touch dry, to prevent the cracks from forming you need to leave the paint/ink to dry overnight before applying Dimensional Magic. I like to set the stitch length on the sewing machine to 3.5 for papercrafting so that it isn’t so tight that it cuts the page and can be seen without a magnifying glass.
Milton would like it to be know that he made and decorated the cake (from the outside in) under Dad’s instructions, and he is very proud of that fact.

I have to also mention that my Mum got featured this week at the Color Room for her gorgeous layout about my youngest son, Noah. You can see it here on the Color Room Photo Wall, and here on her blog. Congratulations Mum, you really deserve it and your layout is fabulous as always. I got my creativity from both of my parents, but especially from my Mum. Thank you Mum.
