AFSC – Prompt Challenge – May 2014

It is time for a new Prompt Challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge (AFSC) , and I know you will love this one just as much as I did.  The Prompt title is “Oh Baby” and this is how it goes:

Scrap or art journal your baby picture.  Journal anything unusual or interesting – were you a twin? Sickly? Curious?

Now for my layout which features a photograph of my Mum and I when I was around ten months old.

I have used one of the fabulous Bo Bunny Ephemera packs (Baby Bump) that we stock at Scrapbook Fantasies.  It contains papers, ribbons, flowers, stamps and some seriously yummy embellishments.

I didn’t journal about something unusual or interesting in my photograph – I actually wrote about how much I love this photograph.  I know not everyone likes photographs of themselves (even as babies), but I truly appreciate every single photograph my parents took the time to snap of me as I grew up.  There are a few gaps in the photographic record of my life – as my parents couldn’t always afford a camera or the processing – so the photographs I do have (100’s of them to be honest) are even more precious.

My Mum isn’t so lucky as there are only a handful of photographs of her from the time of her birth until she left home in her 20’s.  There are no photographs of my Father in his childhood, well not that we have access to anyway.  I guess that is why they felt it was so important to document my life, and that of my younger brother – who is just as blessed as I am.

I couldn’t resist playing on the 70’s colours in the aged photograph, and our outfits.  And of course extra flowers were a must – we were after-all in my Grandmothers front garden.
