CSI #37 & OUAS Sept #2

When I saw this CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) File and Once Upon A Sketch combination I knew that I wanted to challenge myself to use the beautiful and bold colours to create a light and airy layout.  I chose photographs from a photo-shoot we had when Noah was still very small, just over a month after his early arrival.  As I have created quite a few layouts already from this particular photo-shoot I asked Quentin to write the journaling, that way his voice and handwriting would also be included somewhere in our family albums.

To crack this CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration) file the evidence I have used is doodling around my page (with three colours) and my photograph (with a Zig Photo Signature pen), dots of bling to create custom swirls (using a very old Chatterbox template), and cogs, a brad and a beaded flower centre to represent circles.

The testimony I used is a song title/lyrics as inspiration, handwritten journaling and note paper as the journaling block.

I really love what Quentin wrote as the journaling:
“Noah our little boy that could not wait to come into the world.  Your early entry I am sure was only so that you share the love and joy you brint to all you meet.  Love Daddy”

The metal cogs from 7Gypsies need to be adhered with a strong adhesive that you can apply with a fine nozzle, as they are thin and tricky to apply.  I also like to use adhesive inside the flower layers to help keep the pins in place permanently, however you have to be careful not to use to much as to stain the fine flower petals.

Supplies used:
Patterned paper – Echo Park
Cardstock – Bazzill
Ink – Versacolor (Black), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Salty Ocean)

  1. OOOh.. Alicia, what a fantastic idea! To be honest, I had never really thought of asking Mark to write his own journalling on a LO.. I have wrote some for him before, but it would be great to get his own handwriting!
So clever! Always full of great new ideas to share! Thanks..
    Toni..
