Prima Build-a-Page – April 2012
I couldn’t resist creating with the April Prima Build-a-Page Sketch, and I just happened to have the perfect photograph in my pile of recently printed photographs.
I smeared the white gesso onto the background over the two cream coloured mists, and them applied the two purple mists over this once dry. I like to apply gesso (and texture mediums) with a palette knife for an interesting texture, and I don’t particularly like washing out brushes. The gold lumiere paint was then squirted randomly over the page and left to dry naturally, as using a heat tool on paint makes it bubble and can alter the metallic properties of some paints.
The letter stickers were actually cream, until I misted them randomly with the two purple mists. You have to be very careful when misting products like this as they can come apart if you over-wet them or try to use them before they are completely dry. Be sure to always use a good quality glue (Tombow Mono-Multi) to apply dimensional stickers like this after misting them, as the original adhesive is compromised by the misting process.
